Our Wedding
at Sorella 1881:
A Personal Reflection
I still can’t believe I’m saying this… but we got married! And yes, it was everything we dreamed of and more. Planning and hosting weddings at Sorella 1881 for our couples has always been a joy, but experiencing it for ourselves gave me a whole new appreciation for the magic of this place.
Our wedding day went by in the blink of an eye. Honestly, it felt like a beautiful whirlwind of love, laughter, and celebration. Looking back, there are a few things I would absolutely recommend to anyone before their wedding day.
1. Take time to be alone with your partner.
Your wedding day flies by so fast. Make sure to steal a few quiet moments together. Whether it’s a morning coffee, a walk around the estate, or just a private toast, it’s these moments that make the day feel truly yours.
2. Don’t stress over the small stuff.
Trust me, your guests won’t even notice the tiny details you might be worried about. Let yourself enjoy the day rather than fixating on perfection.
3. Snap a few iPhone photos before going down the aisle.
This might sound simple, but it’s a game-changer. Take a few quick shots of yourself in your outfit and hair/makeup. You can catch anything that doesn’t look the way you want and make adjustments without noticing them after.
4. Practice your smile!
You’ll be overflowing with joy, and that’s amazing!! But it helps to know what your smile looks like when you’re truly happy (it will be a different smile you are used to). I was so excited that my eyes squinted/heavy looking and my smile grew huge, and while it was genuine, I wish I had practiced a bit in the mirror beforehand.
Our wedding at Sorella 1881 was a dream come true, and I’m so grateful for the team, our family, and everyone who celebrated with us. Experiencing the estate as a bride gave me a deeper understanding of what makes a wedding day special. Not just the details, but the moments, the laughter, and the love you share with your people.
To all of our Sorella couples and followers: savor every second, don’t sweat the small stuff, and take in the moments that are just about the two of you. That’s what makes a wedding truly unforgettable.
